Any person or organization who violates the terms of this chapter and, as a result,
causes the dispatch and/or deployment of firefighting equipment or personnel to control
or extinguish the fire or to protect life or property, in addition to other fines
and forfeitures, may be required to pay all costs and expenses incurred by the town
as a result of the dispatch or deployment of firefighting equipment or personnel.
Such costs and expenses shall be calculated by a town designee and submitted to the
town board for its review, consideration, and approval. The town shall bill the violator
directly and if such costs are not paid within 30 days, the costs shall be assessed
against the property in accordance with the provisions of Wis. Stats § 66.0627, or
in an action by the town against the property owners.
